Plain answers, in the order you are likely to need them. If anything here is unclear, email us and you will get an answer.
Four kinds of people use these sites, and this one policy covers all of them:
What we collect: your name, your phone number, your email if you give one, the job address or city, what you need done, and any photos you choose to upload.
Why: to hand that request to the company you picked. That is the entire purpose of the form.
Who sees it: the company you sent it to, and us, because we run the software they use.
We do not sell it. We do not use it to advertise to you. We do not add you to any marketing list. Photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 and are visible to the company you sent them to, so please do not upload anything you would not want them to see.
Your account: your name, business name, email, phone and city.
Your business records: your customers, jobs, estimates, invoices, photos, hours and expenses. Those are your records. We host them for you, we do not sell them, and we do not use them for advertising.
Payment: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
We look at your account data only to support you. If you cancel, we keep your data for 90 days in case you come back, then delete it.
Where the listing comes from: public sources only. Overture Maps open business data, state contractor licensing boards in the states that publish a register, and the contact details businesses publish on their own websites.
What we hold: business name, city and county, phone, website or Facebook page, map coordinates, a licence number only where the state actually issues one, and a published business email address where we found one.
This is business contact information. It is the same information the business already publishes about itself.
Want it changed or taken down? Use "Is this your business?" on your listing page, or email us. We correct listings on request and we remove them on request. You do not have to give a reason.
We write to trade businesses in our directory, once, about our software.
To stop hearing from us: click Unsubscribe, or simply reply and say so. Either way your address goes on our do-not-contact list.
That do-not-contact list is the one thing we keep permanently. We have to, because it is the only way to keep the promise not to write to you again.
We run a first-party analytics beacon of our own that records the page, the referring site, the country and the device type. There are no third-party advertising trackers, no ad pixels, and no cross-site profiles anywhere on these sites.
When you click through to a listed company we count the click, so we can tell that company how many homeowners we sent them. Cloudflare serves the traffic and keeps standard security logs.
Nobody else. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not licence our data to list brokers or lead resellers.
Some plans include AI assists: turning a spoken note into invoice lines, drafting a reply to customer feedback, reading job photos to suggest a price range, answering plain-English questions about your own numbers, pre-filling a safety form, and finding dormant customers worth contacting.
Those only run when a signed-in person asks for one. When they do, the relevant details are sent to Anthropic to produce the answer: for example the job and the customer's name for a drafted reply, the job photos for a price suggestion, or your own figures for a question about your own numbers. Nothing is sent in the background, nothing is sent on a schedule, and Anthropic's API terms do not permit your data to be used to train their models.
Demo sandboxes never reach Anthropic at all: every AI answer in a demo is a canned one. If you would rather the AI features were not available on your account, tell us and we will switch them off for you.
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:
Depending on your state, some of these are legal rights. We give all of them to everyone who asks, in every state, and we will never charge you or give you a worse service for asking. Email us and we will act within 45 days.
These sites are for homeowners and businesses. They are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, there are no passwords to steal because sign-in is by emailed link or short-lived code, and each business's data is isolated to that business on every query. The longer version is on our security page.
If we change this policy the date at the top changes with it, and we email subscribers in advance of anything material.
